INARIA FOUNDER COMPLETES PURCHASE OF BRAND FROM PERFORMANCE SPORTS GROUP

INARIA, a designer and manufacturer of soccer equipment and a full-line of team apparel, today announced that it has completed the purchase of the INARIA brand from Performance Sports Group. The acquisition is led by a vehicle controlled by Saverio Michielli, co-founder and current General Manager of INARIA.
“While we have experienced success and growth over the past four years, we are very eager to once again become an independent company with a rejuvenated energy and focus on our core business,” Michielli said. Michielli and his former partner sold the INARIA business to Performance Sports Group in 2012.
INARIA (which means “inside the 18 yard box” in Italian) first got its start in Toronto in 1999, and will continue to operate in the city. As part of their North American expansion plan INARIA has formed extensive partnerships with professional soccer players and clubs, including Sebastian Giovinco of Toronto F.C., who won the 2015 Landon Donovan MLS MVP Award, as well as several other elite amateur programs.
